Movie Night at the MSV: Jailhouse Rock
Discover Elvis at the MSV! The Smithsonian Community Grant Program, funded by MetLife Foundation, is a proud sponsor of these public programs.
Friday, July 30 • 6:30 p.m.
The MSV has teamed up with Winchester’s Magic Lantern Theater and Q102 to present this fabulous movie night at the Museum! The galleries will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the 1957 movie Jailhouse Rock starring Elvis Presley will be shown outside the Museum at 8:30 p.m. This movie is a tale of a short-tempered ex-con whose gift for music brings him both fame and heartbreak (not rated; 96 minutes). Considered by many to be Elvis Presley’s best film, Jailhouse Rock is a cool black-and-white film classic. Winchester’s Murphy Beverage Company will be at the MSV selling wine, and popcorn and food will be available, too. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. In the event of rain, the movie showing will move inside to the MSV Reception Hall.
$5 MSV Members and Magic Lantern Theater Members; all others: $10 (includes movie and gallery admission). Additional costs apply for food and wine purchases. You may bring your own picnic, but no outside alcohol, please.
