Dates & Hours
Made by Goldsmith Chandlee (1751-1821) around 1795, this tall case clock was in the Glen Burnie House for
six generations. While the preservation project for the house is underway, the clock will be on display in the Founders Gallery as part of the Moveable Feasts: Entertaining at Glen Burnie exhibition.
The MSV galleries are open from 4 to 9 p.m. for Galleries at Night on the second Friday of the month, October through May.
The campus of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) is composed of a Museum (with Galleries, Café, Museum Store, Reception
Hall, and BB&T Learning Center), the Glen Burnie Gardens, and the Glen Burnie House.
The MSV site is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday and closed every Monday. The Café is open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. (with winter hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. January through March), and the Museum Store is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (with extended holiday hours until 5 p.m. between Thanksgiving and December 23).
The Museum is open year-round. The gardens are open seasonally from April through October. The house is now closed until 2014 for a comprehensive preservation project.
In addition to the standard Monday closings, the Museum complex will be closed on the following days:
- Thursday, November 28, 2013
- Monday, December 23, 2013
- Tuesday, December 24, 2013
